Chrysler EV and Hybrid Battery Replacement

CUSTOMER FEEDBACK

Trusted by Hybrid & EV Owners Nationwide

Found them through internet search. Requested mobile installation. They called back within 2 hours to set up an appointment. Turns out they had a shop near me, which saved me 50% on installation cost. Took about an hour.

Prompt, quick, professional service. So much cheaper than getting another car. I would highly recommend their service to anyone who needs a hybrid battery replacement.

I was so grateful that my friend told me about this company. What I thought was going to be a $8,500.00 repair, as quoted to me by my regular auto shop, turned into a $2,400.00 repair. I will be forever grateful to Greentec EV & Hybrid Batteries. Thank you guys so much. Their customer service was excellent over the phone, and my experience with the technician that came to my home to do the repair was also excellent. I can’t thank you all enough. You really saved me!!

The car was running great again with the purchased of 12 month warranty remanufactured. I’m highly satisfied with the work they’ve done and I recommended them big time.

Hey guys, this is Jaxx from Greentec Auto here today, and we got a 2009 Chrysler Aspen hybrid battery ready for you. So this is what it looks like right here. You’re going to have 40 cells all across the battery, and this is what it looks like.

So if you’re watching today’s video, I’m assuming maybe your Chrysler Aspen battery has just failed, maybe it’s kind of failing, maybe you’re getting some sluggish acceleration, your MPG has dropped, or you’re debating buying a Chrysler and you kind of want to know a bit about the battery because you probably heard some costs online about how they’re super expensive. So let’s just go over it right now.

First thing you should know is that the dealership is going to charge a hefty, hefty fee for these batteries. The reason being is because Chrysler makes Chrysler cars — they don’t want to make batteries, right? They’re not in the battery business. That’s our job. So that’s the first thing — we’re going to be a lot more affordable than the dealership itself.

And going back to the battery itself, 40 modules all across like this, and these modules are actually in a Toyota Highlander, they’re in a Prius. The main battery that they’re in is the Prius — Prius C, TP1, TP2, Toyota Prius third generation, all Priuses, Highlanders, and a Chevy Tahoe also has these same exact cells. These are going to last anywhere from 8 to 10 years, like your Chrysler Aspen hybrid battery. If you haven’t got it replaced, it’s probably going to last anywhere from 8 to 10 years, maybe 12 on the high end. Really just depending on — the biggest thing is number one, how you drive, and number two, surprisingly, where you live, right? So if you live somewhere hot like California, Arizona, Texas, or Florida, your hybrid battery could fail years before it should have just because of the heat.

And on the topic of heat, right here you can see the fan, right? So it’s spinning, cooling down the battery, because batteries fail in the heat, right? So this is a module, and then each one of these little things are cells, right? So when heat comes in and if it’s a lot of heat, it breaks down the chemistry inside of the cells itself, and then boom — one cell is bad, right?

And you’ll maybe see some people online — if you’re someone whose battery has just failed, or you’ve got a diagnostic and they’re like “Yep, your battery’s bad” — maybe you’ve seen online a thing about cell replacement. And let me just inform you about that for a second. So again, 40 cells across the whole battery. Some people would just be like, “Okay, let’s say cell 12 is bad. Let’s just go ahead and replace that, right?” Well, the truth is it doesn’t really work because it’s a band-aid fix, right? Once you’re putting, let’s say, a brand new cell inside of this pack, now everything is unbalanced — the whole battery pack is unbalanced. Okay, that’s number one. Number two, if one of the cells is bad, the rest of them are on the verge of going bad as well. So everyone that really comes to us replaces the full battery pack. We’ve had a few people that are like, “Oh, I just want to replace a cell because the cell’s a lot more affordable, you could say.” But then they’re doing the cell replacement three, four times, five times, six times until they finally decide to get a full battery replacement.

And we don’t just sell you the batteries — we sell you peace of mind. And I’ll tell you what I mean by that. So we offer warranties from 18 months all the way to 36 months. And on top of that, you don’t have to pay a hefty dealership diagnostic fee. If you have an error code on your car right now, and maybe you’ve diagnosed it and you’re not really sure, we can come out to you with our diagnostic service, or you can come to our shop and get a diagnosis done. We run all the codes on the battery to see if it’s really the hybrid battery that needs to be replaced, because we don’t want to sell you something you don’t need, right? And then if it is, boom — we’ll come out there, whether it’s your home, your garage, or a Walmart parking lot. We can replace the battery there, or you can come into the shop. It’s a bit of a different fee depending on how far you live from the shop.

But yeah, if you’re interested in costs or some more details about the battery, you can click the link in our bio at greentecauto.com. I’ll put our website and then the direct link to this battery itself. And then if you just want to give us a call and feel like, “Hey, my battery just failed, I just want to get it replaced right away,” I’ll put our phone number in the description as well.

And since you’ve stuck with me all the way through, I’m going to give you a code — GTAI — for $200 off for not if, but when your Aspen needs to get the battery replaced. Thank you guys.

Symptoms of a Failing Chrysler Hybrid Battery

If your Chrysler hybrid is experiencing acceleration issues, getting worse gas mileage, or you notice warning lights like “Service Hybrid System,” your battery is probably failing. Your vehicle might also be stalling on gas to electric transitions or displaying abnormal charging behavior. These signs worsen as time goes on and, if left unaddressed, can damage other components of your hybrid system. Battery replacement in a timely manner protects your investment and will allow your Chrysler to run like it’s supposed to.

Should You Replace the Battery or Sell the Vehicle?

Confronted by an aging battery in your hybrid, most owners just don’t know what to do about repairing the vehicle or selling it off. In fact, an entire new battery can provide you with an additional 8 to 10 years of life for your Pacifica or Chrysler Aspen. If you want to sell, one can also turn your vehicle into something much more desirable and marketable. If you want to keep it, a replacement gets you thousands of dollars below that brand new hybrid price tag.

Frequently Asked Questions

Hybrid and EV error codes are diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) triggered by the vehicle’s onboard computer when it detects a problem with components like the hybrid battery, inverter, or high-voltage system. Common hybrid battery codes include P0A80 (Replace Hybrid Battery Pack) and P0A7F (Hybrid Battery Pack Deterioration). These codes help pinpoint issues in hybrid and electric vehicles and are essential in identifying when a hybrid battery replacement may be needed. We’ve dedicated a page where you can find different Error Codes, what they mean, what the causes are, and their symptoms.
Signs you may need a hybrid battery replacement include decreased fuel efficiency, warning lights or hybrid error codes (like P0A80), reduced electric driving range, sluggish acceleration, and unusual fan noises. If you’re noticing these symptoms in your hybrid or EV, it’s best to schedule a high-voltage battery diagnostic with a trusted specialist like Greentec Auto.
Driving with a hybrid battery error code like P0A80 or P0A7F can lead to reduced performance, lower fuel economy, and further damage to the vehicle’s electrical systems. While your hybrid or electric vehicle might still operate on the gasoline engine, it’s not recommended. A professional hybrid battery diagnostic can confirm if a battery replacement is necessary to restore full performance.
The cost of a hybrid battery replacement or EV battery replacement varies depending on the make, model, and battery type. On average, hybrid battery replacements range from $1,500 to $4,000, while electric vehicle battery replacements can cost between $5,000 and $15,000 or more. Greentec Auto offers affordable pricing on remanufactured and new hybrid batteries with installation options and warranty coverage.
