How It Started
Every detail below is part of the same story. One battery, one family, and a problem nobody else was solving.
Tim Razumovsky's sister had a Prius with a failing hybrid battery. With no shop that was able to fix it, he figured out how to do it himself, pulled it apart in his parents' garage and got it running again.
Curious, Tim went looking online. On Facebook, he found hundreds of hybrid owners with the exact same complaint, failing batteries, and dealerships quoting thousands of dollars to fix them.
When he found that a lot of other people had the same problem, he posted some online to sell. Within weeks, requests were coming in from across the country, in other states, asking for help with the exact same thing.
Once it was clear this wasn't a side project, all three brothers came together and opened Greentec Auto's first real shop. What started as fixing a family member's car became a company.
As demand grew nationwide, Greentec needed a hub that could reach every direction efficiently. Kansas City became home and now home to three warehouses that distribute batteries to every Greentec location in the country.
From that first shop, Greentec expanded in every direction across the United States starting with one new location at a time, every single year then building the largest hybrid and EV battery replacement network in the world.
The same problem Tim found on Facebook in 2012 exists everywhere hybrids and EVs are sold. Greentec expanded into Canada, then the United Kingdom with an eye on Asia next.
35 locations meant Greentec was collecting more batteries than any single replacement business needed. That surplus became the seed for two new divisions: Greentec Energy and Greentec Recycling.

When the battery in his sister’s Prius failed, the dealership’s quote was expensive enough to make anyone question whether keeping the car made sense. Tim figured out a better way himself, and in doing so realized he wasn’t alone. Closing The Loop
Batteries that don’t qualify for remanufacturing or a second life still hold something valuable, the materials inside them. In 2025, Greentec opened its recycling division to make sure nothing goes to waste. We’re building out our first dedicated recycling facility now, with one goal: recover the lithium, cobalt, nickel, manganese, and carbon inside every battery so it can help build the next one.

No. Greentec Auto specializes in battery replacement, not repair. When a hybrid or EV battery fails, we remanufacture or supply a new battery and install it, rather than attempting to repair the failing pack in place.
Most customers save 30-50% compared to dealership pricing. Some customers have been quoted $18,000 to $30,000 by dealerships for a single battery replacement before finding a more affordable option with Greentec.
Every battery we collect is evaluated. Packs that pass testing are remanufactured into new replacement batteries. Packs with remaining life that don't qualify for remanufacturing are repurposed through Greentec Energy. Anything left over is sent to Greentec Recycling to recover valuable materials.
