Core Charge: A $500 refundable “core deposit” will be added to your order at checkout. Once we receive your old battery, we will refund the core deposit back to you minus the cost of return shipping. Cores must be returned within 45 days of purchase. This applies to shipping orders only. In all other circumstances, the core will be picked up at the time of service, no deposit required.
How do I return my old hybrid battery? Once your new hybrid battery has arrived, put the core battery back into the same packaging your battery arrived in. As soon as we receive your core battery, we will refund the core deposit back to you. It’s that easy.
Every 4th Generation Toyota Prius must have its battery type clearly identified as either Lithium-Ion (Li-Ion) or Nickel-Metal Hydride (NiMH) before service, battery-related transactions are performed. These are NOT interchangeable. A way to discover which battery chemistry your vehicle is using is by identifying it your car’s VIN Number. You will also be asked to enter you VIN Number at checkout to double confirm your battery selection.
Located below are two different VIN Numbers; one with KB(NiMH) and KA (Li-Ion)

“Second Prius battery replacement, first Prius lasted a full 439,000 miles in the original and the replacement, second Prius original battery replaced at 224,000 miles and expecting at least another 200K on this one.
