Leaf modules with BMS kit includes:
- 7 G1 or G2 Nissan Leaf Modules (if G1, 4 of one type, 3 of the other)
- 6 sets of spacers(G1 only)
- 7 sets of terminal bolts
- BMS with circuit board and applicable hardware
- 4 X 12 inch threaded rods with washers and nuts
- 50A Anderson Pigtail
BMS only Includes:
- BMS with circuit board and applicable hardware
- 4 X 12 inch threaded rods with washers and nuts
- 50A Anderson Pigtail
It is required to compress the modules for a sturdy build and proper fitment. 12 inches is enough to put the modules together and slowly tighten them in a uniform pattern for an even compression. Once you have compressed them to where the BMS kit fits, you can cut the excess threaded rod off.
The BMS app is easy to use. You can add multiple BMS's to the same app and swipe through them to view the information of each BMS. You can control the charge and discharge of each BMS individually, calibrate the voltage and current, and enable the balance function. On the main screen, you can view all the cell voltages, temperatures, and basic battery info to help you determine the condition of the pack. You can also push the button on top for a quick voltage and percent charge indication of the battery.
The BMS is rated at 50A continuous, you can get 52A for a few seconds before it auto-times out. It will allow 100A for up to one second before it times out, but we do not recommend it. The fuses are rated for 30A each, total of 120A. These are common fuses that can be replaced by soldering if you ever happen to burn them up. Using these fuses increased the efficiency of the kit and reduced the operating temperature by 30%.
This pack is best suited for Solar Energy Storage applications, and possibly small mobile vehicles.
Golf Carts usually require large amounts of current, generally around 200A, more if it is a larger golfcart.
The best way to see if this will work for you or to determine how many you will need, measure the current with a clamp on ammeter with a DC setting while applying full throttle. Divide that number by 50 and round up. That is how many of these we would recommend for your golf cart.
If you dont have an ammeter and cant get one, your motor controller might say how many amps it takes.
Alternatively, but not recommended, you can hook up your golfcart bypassing the BMS, but then you would not have the discharge protection of the BMS and would need to monitor the app to make sure you do not over discharge the battery. You might also not have a whole lot of range if your golfcart pulls a lot of current and one battery is not enough to handle it for very long. If you use this kit in the bypass mode, we will not warranty the batteries.

The test discharges the module from 8.3V down to 5V at 20A.
The resulting capacity is going to be labeled on the module.
You will know the exact capacity of every module you receive.
There are 2 types of cells for the G1 modules. Ones with positive on the left and ones with positive on the right. (see photo)
