I also had an issue with my 2012 hybrid, IMA went bad, purchased IMA from Greentech at $1100 (this was in the middle of 2018 or 2019, issue has occurred again. Now Greentech raised its price to $2500). I don’t get it is it going to be a recurring issue? Very upset.

I am extremely grateful for the exceptional service provided by GreenTec Auto. When my 2012 Honda Civic Hybrid displayed the “IMA Not Charging” warning light, I was concerned about the potential cost of repairs. After running some diagnostic codes (P1440 and P15A5), I visited a nearby Honda Dealer only to receive a staggering quote of over $6,000 for replacing the Inverter, Battery, and IMA Coolant. Given my car’s mileage of 133,000, this cost seemed exorbitant and unaffordable.

Fortunately, I reached out to GreenTec and received a prompt response from Hunter, who provided me with honest advice and a reasonable quote. Within a week, they shipped the necessary part, and Joe at the Auburn Branch was outstanding in keeping me informed throughout the process. I was pleasantly surprised when the entire inverter dc/dc module was replaced for a total of $2500, inclusive of taxes, fees, and labor. There was no hassle or feeling of being taken advantage of—just straightforward, transparent service. Moreover, the 2-year warranty with unlimited miles offered by GreenTec Auto provided me with complete peace of mind.

I cannot express my gratitude enough to GreenTec for helping me get my life back on the road. Their amazing team consists of genuine, heartfelt individuals who truly care about their customers. If you are a Honda Civic Hybrid owner from 2012-2015 and find yourself in a similar situation, take my advice: be prepared for the potential cost, but ensure you receive an honest diagnosis and have a thorough understanding of your vehicle. I highly recommend checking the Service Bulletin at https://www.tsbsearch.com/Honda/20-030 if you are experiencing the exact issue I faced.

Furthermore, here are some crucial facts that greatly aided me in resolving the issue with my ’12 HCH.

** Firstly, it is important to note that 2012-2015 Honda Civic Hybrid models cannot function with the IMA Battery switched off (Non-Hybrid). Beware of YouTube videos suggesting this as a solution, as it will eventually lead to your car breaking down on the road, causing further complications and expenses.

**Additionally, these models do not feature an alternator.

**Before conducting any diagnostics, ensure that your 12V battery undergoes a thorough inspection, which can usually be done for free at stores like O’Reilly’s or AutoZone. This step will ensure that the diagnostic codes obtained are accurate and specific.

If you decide to keep your Honda Civic Hybrid, I strongly recommend conducting extensive research and considering GreenTec Auto. Their prices are competitive, and it is worth comparing them with other options such as eBay and other competitors. GreenTec Auto has proven their reliability and trustworthiness, and I am confident in endorsing them wholeheartedly.
